CA15F stainless steel is a cast stainless steel with both heat resistance and corrosion resistance. Also known as high-chromium cast stainless steel, it belongs to martensitic stainless steel and is of great significance in the industrial field and materials science.
In terms of chemical composition, CA15F contains a unique combination of various elements: chromium (Cr) content is 14.0-16.0%, nickel (Ni) 3.5-5.5%, molybdenum (Mo) 0.5-1.5%, manganese (Mn) ≤1.0%, silicon (Si) ≤1.5%, carbon (C) ≤0.12%, phosphorus (P) ≤0.04%, sulfur (S) ≤0.03%, nitrogen (N) ≤0.03%, and iron (Fe) is the balance. Among them, chromium is the most important component, which significantly improves the corrosion resistance and heat resistance of stainless steel.
CA15F stainless steel has excellent physical and mechanical properties. Its hardness is HB≤217, and its density is 7.75g/cm³. After solution annealing treatment, the mechanical properties are significantly improved: at 650℃, the tensile strength is 620MPa, the yield strength is 460MPa, and the elongation is 20%; at 800℃, the tensile strength can still reach 430MPa, the yield strength is 320MPa, and the elongation is 30%. This fully shows that it still has good strength and toughness at high temperatures. In addition, as a martensitic stainless steel, its martensitic crystal structure endows it with high strength and hardness, which makes it perform well in scenarios where it is subjected to large pressure or friction.
In terms of performance characteristics, the corrosion resistance of CA15F stainless steel is particularly prominent. At room temperature, it has good stability to oxides, organic acids, inorganic acids, alkalis, salt water and other media; at the same time, it is also very suitable for use in high-temperature steam and air, and can even work in high-temperature environments around 850℃.
With these excellent properties, CA15F stainless steel is widely used in various fields susceptible to corrosion and high-temperature effects. In the chemical and petroleum industries, it can resist the erosion of various chemical substances and is used in the manufacture of related equipment to ensure the service life and safety of the equipment; in the aerospace and automotive fields, its high-temperature performance and mechanical properties meet strict usage requirements; in the machinery manufacturing field, it can be used to manufacture components that need to withstand large pressure or friction, such as gears in mechanical transmission devices. Its hardness can ensure that the gears are not easily worn and deformed during long-term operation, and its high strength can withstand the huge torque during transmission; in the food processing industry, due to its corrosion resistance and meeting food safety standards to a certain extent, it can be used to make components such as cutting tools; in the construction industry, it is suitable for places that require material strength and corrosion resistance, such as decorative components on building facades, which can maintain good appearance and structural integrity under natural erosion such as wind and rain.
It should be noted that the welding process of CA15F stainless steel is relatively special, and advanced argon arc welding technology needs to be adopted to ensure welding quality and connection stability.
To sum up, CA15F stainless steel is a high-quality heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant cast stainless steel with excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance, and is an ideal material for many industries.
