II. Material Characteristics Comparison and Technical Parameter Deconstruction

To achieve a seamless and perfect replacement, relying on solid underlying logic in materials science and a full-process quality control system, we conducted an in-depth multi-dimensional performance benchmarking between 20CrMo and SAE4118:

Precise Chemical Composition Matching: The carbon content of 20CrMo is controlled between 0.17% and 0.24%, the chromium (Cr) element content is 0.40% - 0.70%, and the molybdenum (Mo) element content is stable at 0.15% - 0.25%. This alloy ratio perfectly inherits and optimizes the hardenability of the original imported material, ensuring a uniform and dense martensitic structure after carburizing and quenching.


Excellent Mechanical Performance Indicators: After scientific spheroidizing annealing and cold processing, the tensile strength of 20CrMo in the supply state can reach a maximum of 480MPa (Max 480 MPa), yield strength a minimum of 180MPa (Min 180MPa), elongation a minimum of 26% (Min 26%), Brinell/Vickers hardness controlled at a maximum of 150 HV (Max 150HV), and the spheroidization rate is stably maintained at ≥ 90% or above. This provides perfect substrate conditions for the customer's subsequent high-precision mechanical processing, gear hobbing, gear shaving, and complex forming.

Full-Process Quality Consistency and Strict Inspection: From master coil selection to rough rolling, pickling, finish rolling, skin-passing, and slitting, every single process undergoes multi-stage online inspections and metallographic structure analysis to ensure that every batch of 20CrMo steel strip delivered to the client possesses ultimate purity and performance stability.
